All programs run Mondays thru Thursdays (no Fridays), beginning July 6 and ending July 29, 2010.

Classes are 50 minutes long and are held at Lincoln School in Rutherford, NJ.

All supplies and equipment are included, except where mentioned below, in the prices.

CREATIVE COOKS

Using a variety of small kitchen appliances, we’ll transform a normal classroom into a kitchen where we’ll make all kinds of tasty treats.  Chocolate-covered strawberries, quesadillas, and cookies are just a few of the things we might make.  Recipes will be sent home, and best of all, you get to eat what you make!

SCRAP-A-PALOOZA!                     

7-12 years       11:30am-12:20pm

Preserve your favorite pics and stuff in a scrapbook designed and made by you!  Bring your own scrapbook and we’ll provide

all the tools and supplies along with some creative direction as you create a memory book you’ll cherish forever!  Come & create matching books with your BFF!

SHAKE YOUR TAILFEATHER!

If you like to “move it, move it” you’ll love this class.  We’ll learn all kinds of dances, some cool and some silly!  Music from your favorite artists will provide the background for this great dance class.  We’ll also throw in a few games and other activities to keep the fun going!

ICKY STICKY SCIENCE                    

5-8 years         10:30am-11:20am

Come find out how messy and fun science can be!  We’ll recreate volcanoes, geysers and tornadoes.  We’ll “excavate” fossils, and create our own.  We’ll even see how water and air “behave.”  Put on your lab coat & join us for all the learning fun!

CALLI-GRAPHIX

Learn how to personalize everything from invitations to party favors!  Not only will you learn how to do beautiful calligraphy, you’ll learn how to turn doodles into cool graphic embellishments.  Then we’ll practice all kinds of cool & funky lettering that can be used with paint pens to personalize your stuff! 

MANGA & COMIC ART                  

9-12 years       9:30am-10:20am

If you’re a fan of Manga or Anime, this is your kind of class.  “Manga” is Japanese for “Comics” and is a style of Japanese animation, used in cartoons, full-length movies and video games.  Manga and Anime feature characters with large eyes, big hair, and elongated arms and legs.   Learn the basics of drawing in this style, or improve your skills with expert instruction.

CAN YOU BUILD IT?

Yes you can!  We’ll use all kinds of stuff to do

all kinds of building.  From Lego blocks to

playing cards, you’ll learn how to build.  We’ll build a couple of take-home projects from kits.  We’ll build tents, forts and other fun structures.If you like the idea of building and design, come have fun with us!

MIXED MEDIA

Beyond “Arts & Crafts,” you’ll find Mixed Media, which will teach you how to turn almost anything into art.  Focusing primarily on 3-D works, this class will involve collage, masks, sculpture – even installation art.  You’ll learn how to channel your own creativity – no kits involved!

SHOOTING STARS

Got the photography bug?  Bring your digital camera to class, and we’ll learn how to put it to good use.  After learning what all the buttons are for, we’ll take lots of pictures, and explore what makes a “good” picture and what makes a “bad” one.  We’ll play some photo games and make some crafts to display our favorite shots.

KARMA KIDS                                        

7-10 years       10:30am-11:20am

You’ll enjoy this cosmic class which combines yoga, tai-chi, dance movement and some high-powered moves from mixed martial arts.  Throw in some creative use of props, storytelling, music and instruments, and you get this truly innovative class that promotes positive body image, stress release and individual growth.  All that and fun, too!
