neurological, physical or social challenges
Hello Sarrah:
Let's add 15 minutes more to Hailey's lessons so we finish prior to the
pool closing.
Thank you very much for everything and to the "Y" for a superior
program.

GROUP INSTRUCTION - Swimming
Hello Ruben, Rutherford minnow 5:00pm
My children have been attending the YMCA swim program
for a few years including this current summer ( Minnow 5:00PM class ). I would
like you to know that my children have learned many swimming techniques from
their instructor Mr. Patel. I can say that Mr. Patel is very friendly with his
students and does not force them to perform swimming techniques beyond their
ability.
For your reference, both of my children look forward to
having Mr. Patel as their instructor again.
Sincerely Yours,VL

STARFISH PROGRAM - Swimming program
designed for children with moderate to severe neurological, physical or social
challenges
Hello:
When I was seeking a summer
program for my special needs child, I cannot tell you how much time I spent on
the Internet. Then, my Mom suggested the YMCA and I didn't know there was one
in the area. Our family was heavily involved with the YMCA in central NJ over
the years.
When I discovered the
starfish program, I was floored because of the services offered. I immediately
jumped at the opportunity and I was concerned that we wouldn't get a spot. My
daughter LOVED the program and the instructors, Sarrah and Kim. These ladies
were patient, professional, made the experience fun and extremely enjoyable for
my daughter. My daughter felt very "safe and comfortable" with Sarrah in
particular. I only wish that the program ran longer!
I truly hope that this
program will stay in tact, because the YMCA is offering a hard-to-find service
for children with special needs. If our scheduling permits, I will be enrolling
my daughter again because the experience was so positive. In addition, I hope
that this program may be held on a Saturday or Sunday so we can enroll.
Thank you for your time.

GROUP INSTRUCTION - Swimming
Dear Mr. Maycher:
I am writing to tell you how very pleased I am
with the YMCA Aquatics Program, and more specifically with the Preschool Swim
Lessons. My four year old son was quite afraid of being in any water that
was more than a foot high. He has made tremendous progress in only four
weeks and I caught him smiling at his last lesson!
I want to especially thank the instructors that
are currently teaching the Spring Session lessons in Rutherford on Saturday
mornings. Their dedication continues to help my son cope with his fear and
gain confidence in his abilities both in and out of the water. I plan on
purchasing a full year family membership in hopes of expanding our participation
in the Meadowlands YMCA programs.
Sincerely
MRR

STARFISH PROGRAM - Swimming program
designed for children with moderate to severe neurological, physical or social
challenges
Dear Ms. Johnson:
My husband and I were very
pleased with the starfish program during this summer. My 8 year old autistic
child benefitted greatly from the caring nature of the instructors, especially
Sarrah Grimes. My daughter learned so much, especially how to be more
comfortable in the water. Much of what she was taught we reinforced on our most
recent vacation. She was floating and paddling back and forth in the swimming
pools, even going under the water a few times. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, Anita and Thomas
