YOGA

An hour of anti-stress and relaxation exercises. Learn breathing and stretching exercises that combine with meditation to refresh you in body, mind and spirit. Sculpt a leaner, stronger body while releasing tightness and fatigue! Students should wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

 

PILATES

A highly effective way to learn the fundamentals of strength, posture, vitality and natural grace. The new craze in movement therapies, Pilates teaches the body to stabilize, move and breathe in a whole new manner! Pilates focuses on the muscles of the body’s “core” (abdominals, lower back, hips and buttocks). Students should wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

 

KICKBOXING

Are you looking for a total body workout that tones your body and pumps you up? How about a way to increase your stamina, flexibility, and strength while listening to your favorite dance mixes? Martial arts and boxing moves are performed to increase cardiovascular endurance, strength and balance. Grab a friend and join this exciting new class.

 

ZUMBA

Part dance, part aerobics, Zumba is an hour long routine that works almost every muscle in the body. Zumba offers motivating music and high energy Latin dance moves that are fun and easy to learn. The routines feature aerobic intervals of fast and slow rhythms designed to keep you moving and feeling good.

 

BELLY DANCING

Believed to be one of history’s oldest dances, belly dancing has entranced audiences around the world for centuries. Despite its name, belly dancing draws on full body movement from head to toe providing a good cardio-vascular workout that helps increase both flexibility and strength.

 

HIP HOP

Dance like you’re in an MTV video in this fun, exciting dance class choreographed to your favorite music. Learn the latest moves while you tone every muscle in your body. Bring a friend and have a blast!

 

BODY SCULPTING
Build and sculpt muscles, strengthen your core, improve your strength and flexibility while burning fat and calories. Also helps to prevent the development of osteoporosis while firing up your metabolism, helping you to lose weight and inches. Student should wear comfortable clothing and bring a set of dumbbells, exercise mat and water to class. Accommodates all fitness levels. Work out at your own pace.

GOOD MORNING RUN
Do you want to learn how to run “the right way? Taught by former collegiate runner and head track coach, this class is suited for all levels. This class is designed to train your body by building cardiovascular endurance and strength through proper breathing and running form. Learn the correct stretches to avoid injuries and soreness, proper hydration and how to use nutrition to enhance your capabilities. We will meet at Rutherford High School and run a different course each week.

INDOOR BOOT CAMP
Combining cardiovascular, strength and agility routines, our ‘drill sergeant “will challenge you to be all that you can be. Run, jump, squat and crunch your way to a stronger, leaner body. Teens and parents can participate in this family friendly class. No equipment needed. Bring a water bottle. Call first to confirm availability, please.
 

SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING Ages 16 – Adult
Small group personal training series held at the Riverside Plaza Fitness Center. A certified Personal Trainer will guide you through a strength training circuit that will target major muscle groups, coupled with cardiovascular intervals. Register now, class size is limited to 6 participants.

7 WEEKS TO A TONED BODY (NEW)
In this 5 week program we will to strengthen and tone your body, prevent the development of osteoporosis, increase your metabolism, and help you to lose body fat and inches. At the end of our program our certified fitness
instructor will assess each individual’s progress. Suggested enrollment for this class is twice a week for best results. Bring water bottle and small dumbells. Please note: This class is limited to 10 participants so register soon!

TAI CHI
An ancient Eastern discipline that promotes wellness by emphasizing balance, posture, coordination and strength through slow graceful movements and breathing techniques.
 

AFRICAN DANCE
Try this alternative in the fitness and dance world for the mind, body and soul! This exciting ethnic/African-based dance is taught by a world class instructor who makes it easy for everyone to get the steps, lose weight and have fun in a no pressure environment. African dance is an aerobic workout
which burns calories by providing a complete cardiovascular workout.

FLOOR, CORE AND MORE
This class introduces powerful and effective alternatives to traditional weight room training. Taught by a certified personal trainer, this class combines Yoga and Pilates concepts focusing on routines so simple you can do them at home. Suitable for injuries of knees, shoulders and hips. Great class toning up those problem areas and for post rehab!

 

PERFORMANCE NUTRITION
Would you like to improve your exercise performance through proper nutrition, but find all of the information overwhelming? Let our professional’s help you sort it out. Performance Nutrition will provide the basis for proper nutrition while exercising, and also present the ongoing discussions amongst nutritionists. During each class we will perform a cooking demo that you can do at home, while providing the nutritious background for each meal. To fully see the results from your workout, a healthy meal is paramount. Samples of each meal will be given to the class.

 

EXERCISE BASICS FOR THE BEGINNER
New to exercise? Afraid to hit the gym? Then this exercise class is for you! Our certified personal trainer will educate you on the benefits of fitness while guiding you through a gentle, total body workout using bands and a mat. Gentle on joints. Go at your own pace, bring a mat and water.

LATIN DANCE

Ages 12-15 years & Ages 16 – adult
Get moving with fun, energetic dancing. Learn the basics of popular Latin and rhythm dances including cha cha, rumba, salsa and swing. This is an excellent start for anyone looking to learn the basics of social or competitive dance, or just get ready for a special event. No partner required. NEW CLASS FOR TEENS!
