Teen camp activities are designed to encourage decision-making skills by providing challenging, fun and character-building experiences. Each themed week includes swim lessons, team-building exercises, games, sports, crafts, community service projects, special event days, field trips, and more.
(teens entering 9th and 10th grade)
Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed to develop tomorrow’s leaders who are considering a career in youth development. Teens who are involved in this program participate in a variety of camp activities as well as learn alongside our experienced staff. Many of our staff started in the CIT program where they learned the necessary skills to be a great counselor: leadership, organizational, problem-solving and being a team player. CIT's will be assigned to a senior counselor to shadow each week where they will be exposed to the full range of counselor experience. The CIT's will assist in the welfare of the campers as well help in the execution of camp activities.
CIT's are chosen by completing the application below and returning the form, with references, to the Meadowlands YMCA Attn: Kris Logan.
As part of the application, the CIT camper must request a minimum of four (4) weeks. (CIT's will receive a 50% discount on regular camp costs). Space is limited to apply now.
