Our History

 Dear All,

Here at the Y, we have a rich history of reaching out to improve our community. We want to continue strengthening the community and working to improve the spirit, mind, and body of all those with whom we come in contact.

As our community grows, I am thankful for the opportunities to meet more people who have been impacted by the Y.  Every day I see life-shaping moments that reinforce the significance of the YMCA’s mission “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”

I hope that you will browse our brochures, web site and Facebook for opportunities for yourself, your family and even the company where you work  In addition to current programs, we are committed to serving the area well into the future.  Broad-based neighborhood involvement has guided our plans to enhance our YMCA and earn support from people who care about their community.

Community Partnerships and collaborations with our community remains vital as we launch these initiatives.  I extend my thanks and deep appreciation to donors, volunteers, advocates and others who make the YMCA’s valuable work possible.

Please accept my personal invitation to visit one of our YMCA programs to see what a difference the YMCA can make in your life.  I invite you to learn more about and participate in our programs, explore opportunities for volunteerism, and experience the caring spirit of our organization.

With Warmest Regards

Jane A. Egan
