Daly News We are so lucky to live in the northeast, where we can experience all of the seasons. So many beautiful colors are popping up all around us. Your child will be thankful as they explore and recognize the importance of all their senses. Neil Reading We had a lot of special happenings since school started. On Monday, October 19th, we had the pleasure of two special guest readers for Read Across the Globe Day! Joe Min, COO of our Y, and Miss Chonita took time out of their busy schedules to read Halloween stories to our children. On October 22nd, Zanebir’s mom came to wish our children and staff a Happy Dussehra! She taught us how this holiday celebrates the victory of good over evil. We learned about Lord Rama and Demon Ravan with 10 heads. We’ll also talk about how the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines get from one location to the other. November 10th is the Marine Corps birthday and November 11th is Veteran’s Day. We’ll learn about planes, trains, and airplanes! All the things that we forget about after Halloween will be reviewed during “Harvest Week”. There are colorful leaves to rake up and jump in, the smell of the crisp air, the feel of the autumn breezes, and cornfields with scarecrows! Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks. During our “Countdown to Thanksgiving” we will learn about pilgrims, turkeys, friends, and family. These are just a few things to be thankful for. On Wednesday, November 25th, we will set up our tables for a Thanksgiving feast! We ask everyone to sign up for a dish to share. We will be having everything from turkey, potatoes, and veggies, to scrumptious desserts (no nuts!). I hope that everyone has a Happy Turkey Day and thank you for letting us be part of your child’s youthful, fantastic, fun filled day to day experiences. your child’s youthful, fantastic, fun filled day to day experiences.
