Meadowlands YMCA Kicks Off Our Drive to $1 Million Capital Campaign With $125,000 in Gifts from Board Members

Major Gifts Include $50,000 from Kearny Bank and $25,000 from Mazars USA

MEADOWLANDS, NJ, July 5, 2018-- The Meadowlands YMCA has kicked off its Drive to $1 Million fundraising campaign with $125,000 in initial contributions generated by its board members, including $50,000 from Kearny Bank through Y Vice Chairman, John Mazur and $25,000 from Mazars USA through Y Development Committee Chair, Mike Coletti.

The drive will allow the YMCA to address community needs it’s discovered since its grand opening in May 2017, including the Exergame Room, one of its many offerings to help kids incorporate healthy lifestyle choices into their everyday routine through play.

 “The dynamic growth of our membership revealed a community in need of many forms of support and our Drive to $1 Million allows us to fund the equipment and programs that will truly complete the promise of our facility to the region, said Ron Simoncini, Board Chairman & Chief Volunteer Officer for the Meadowlands YMCA.  “The genesis for the kick-off gifts is corporate donations from board members Vice Chairman John Mazur at Kearny Bank and from Mazars USA through our devoted board member Mike Coletti, allows us to reach out to the community at large to solicit their support as well.

Membership at the Meadowlands YMCA has grown to more than 15,000 individuals and has hosted over 350,000 community visits since opening its 83,200 square foot facility at 390 Murray Hill Parkway in East Rutherford.

The Meadowlands YMCA is a community center for members of all ages offering a 15,000 square foot state of the art fitness center, 9,600-square-foot aqua-center with 25yd, 6-lane competition pool, the Mara Center for Early Childhood Learning, The Gatorade Gym, with two NBA-grade basketball courts, the Revolution Cycle Studio, Exergame Room as well as 21st Century job training through STEAM projects in the TechLab, art and music classes and meeting spaces.
