After School Program Leader - Counselor

Annual Support Campaign and Special Events Director

We are searching for a Director of Annual Support Campaign and Special Events to lead key functions and create lasting and meaningful impact in the communities we serve.   Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Development Officer, primary responsibility is to develop and implement a multi-year Annual Support fundraising plan which includes a face-to-face component, special events, and third-party participants, manage and execute special events to support the Annual Support fund, and assist in Corporate sponsorship proposals.

The Director of Annual Support Campaign and Special Events works closely with the overall YMCA Staff and Financial Development Committee to create and implement a Donor Relations Program, which includes both systematic stewardship communications to donors as well as utilizing management strategies to expand the donor base and pipeline of donor prospects.  Embedded within the Y’s Community Outreach Team, the Director will work closely with the Y’s Marketing Teams to support the organizations overall efforts in engaging new donors and upgrading existing donors through sharing the energy and impact of the Y’s mission. This position leverages the Y’s programmatic vibrancy to build and deepen relationships within the philanthropic and Y membership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  •  Takes a leadership role in developing a comprehensive and effective campaign structure and directs and manages the Association-wide Annual Campaign with emphasis on campaign preparation, trainings, donor cultivation and stewardship, retention, supporting direct asks, communication and marketing materials.  Ensures the success of the Annual Campaign by providing continuous support to the Development Committee as well as to the staff. 
  • Develops and maintains a portfolio of prospective major donors for Annual Support as well as Capital Campaign.  Cultivates support among community stakeholders for the purpose of acquiring new Annual Support contributors. 
  • Recruits, motivates, trains and manages key workplace campaign volunteers.  Recruits volunteer leadership for the overall annual campaign from within the Y staff as well as membership base. 
  • Prepares, organizes and manages the development of all Annual Campaign assets including printed materials, videos, reports and the staging of meetings, as required.
  • Convenes and facilitates the Annual Campaign Steering Committee.
  • Oversees the data management of annual gifts and conducts regular analysis and reporting of annual campaign progress through SGA (our revenue management system) or its replacement and/or Donor Perfect donor management system. 
  • Achieve the campaign’s overall objectives for funds raised. 
  • Manages all staff and volunteers with campaign assignments in analyzing, organizing and executing the Annual Campaign effort.
  • Establishes performance measures, monitors results and produce evidence that demonstrates the effectiveness of the Annual Support Campaign.
  • Special event management. Staffs, manages and attends special event, projects and committees.  In collaboration with committee members and other staff, plans and manages all Annual Campaign fundraising events, including a Tricky Tray, Annual Golf Outing and Anniversary Gala.
  • Provides leadership to various volunteer groups supporting the Y’s mission.
  • Maintains awareness of advancements in philanthropy and fund development, as well as the general fields of management and the not-for-profit sector.
  • Participates in ongoing, year-round, cultivation activities with volunteers and donors. 
  • The successful professional will be stellar at building relationships and working across organizational departments to mobilize process and drive results.

Cycle Studio Manager - PT

Cycle Studio Manager is responsible for cutting edge technology cycle studio that encompasses brand new IC7 indoor cycling bikes and immersive screen technology. The Studio Manager is responsible for meeting studio sales goals, membership renewals and ancillary service goals by pre-planning with grassroots marketing and networking and current membership leads (first time riders).

Candidates should also be well versed on the bike and comfortable creating fun, challenging and inspire class takers.

Cycling Instructor

We are looking to fill the role of an Inclusion Specialist. This positions will assists with planning, leading, and evaluating group experiences for children and adults with special needs in weekly enrichment programs. The specialist provides quality recreational experiences for children and adults that focus on the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Must be available weekday afternoon/evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in education, recreation, or related field.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with special needs children.
  • Knowledge in planning, organizing, communicating and implementing school age recreation programs.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • 2 year minimum experience working with special needs population
  • Current certification in CPR or CPR/PR (Professional Rescuer); First Aid and AED (Automated External Defibrillators). Must be able to obtain certifications within 30 days of hire.
  • Willingness to work with special needs children from diverse populations.

Work Conditions:

  • Will restrain or physically support children weighing 50+ pounds, as needed for safety, during activities that may require stooping, kneeling or crouching.
  • Lead and participate in activities that may include running, throwing, and kicking.
  • Able to sit low at child size seating and instruct/work with children at tables.

Senior Help Desk Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Nonprofit organization needs a Senior Associate to provide all levels of hardware and software support to association users in addition to providing proper maintenance and upkeep of the company’s Information Technology infrastructure.  Assist with creating a technology plan to upgrade and maintain all technology as well as track all technology assets.  They will also need to oversee the technology room to ensure that all equipment and software is ready to use for the programs being offered, as well as staffing times when the lab is open for our members use. POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Meadowlands YMCA has a fast growing swim team that swims year round. The assistant coach will provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for those enrolled in our team.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Conducts practices on a regular basis for swimmers ranging from beginner to senior levels and attends both regular season and championship meets.
  • Assist Head Coach in planning training and swim meet schedule, executing entries, facilitating running tryouts and hosted meets.
  • Work with coaching staff to develop and run training to develop, retain, and bring out the potential of all levels of swimmers. Sensitivity to needs of population served. Have passion for swimming and swimmers of all levels.
  • Communicates with Aquatic Director, swim team, coaches, parents, volunteers, and community to inform of practices, meets, and other swimming related events.
  • Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events as requested.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills required
  • Proficient with computer software including Hy-tek Team Manager, Meet Manager and other general computer skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.

  • Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.

  • Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).

  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

  • Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.

  • Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.

  • Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
