The Meadowlands Area YMCA is a rapidly growing and progressive Association that is looking for individuals who can positively contribute to our team. 



Nonprofit organization needs a Senior Associate to provide all levels of hardware and software support to association users in addition to providing proper maintenance and upkeep of the company’s Information Technology infrastructure.  Assist with creating a technology plan to upgrade and maintain all technology as well as track all technology assets.  They will also need to oversee the technology room to ensure that all equipment and software is ready to use for the programs being offered, as well as staffing times when the lab is open for our members use. Reporting to the CFO the primary responsibility is to serve as the point person for all the technology needs of the Meadowlands Area YMCA.


Must be a hands on team player who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working to achieve goals, eliminate security risks and successfully implement technology expansion initiatives. The candidate should have experience in IT project management, program development and be familiar with the YMCA’s core goals.  


The successful candidate will have a 'customer first' approach to managing operations and recommending solutions for the Members, Faculty, Staff, Administration and the Community which the YMCA serves, while being adept at balancing and prioritizing initiatives and tasks based on institutional requirements and resource constraints while managing risk.


  • Provide front line support for all end user requests
  • Setup New Hires and complete employee terminations using proper company procedures 
  •  Support company employees on all Company owned Hardware, and Software, troubleshooting problems as they arise
  • Utilize help desk procedures on all calls and e-mails requesting support
  • Maintain the proper working order of all company owned IT related hardware and software
  • Update and secure all company owned IT related hardware and software
  • Create and keep IT documentation up to date
  • Ability to learn new technologies and applications
  • Ability to Troubleshoot and Research problems through to conclusion
  • Manage the operations of computer labs, gaming rooms and employee computers, including equipment functionality, security, purchasing, and scheduling
  • Set and maintain software and hardware standards
  • Implement lab technical operating standards
    • Hire, train, and supervise IT staff
    • Manage lab equipment and purchasing process, recommend purchases, changes and equipment upgrades as needed
    • Serve as the department’s liaison to lab users including staff and members
    • Develop and implement uniform standards for lab conduct and operation
    • Compile and disseminate information concerning lab technical and usage patterns
    • Perform all other related duties as assigned
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data safety
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the needs for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
  • Supervise IT personnel and provide guidance
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
  • Research and solve all technology-related problems
  • Participate in the maintenance of a knowledge base of problems and solutions
  • Contribute to process and procedure documentation and FAQs to assist users and other support specialists with technology tasks and issues
  • Assist in the development and teaching of programs on commonly used applications, and take enthusiastic interest in developments and innovation in educational technology
  • Assists the CFO in developing annual and long-term plans and associated budgets
  • Participates in regular meetings with direct reports as well as with IT management to review status, performance and other topics as required.
  • Performs hands-on tasks when required.
  • Participates in various compliance, discovery and audit activities pertaining to IT or the YMCA
  • Serves as the Project Manager on numerous simultaneous projects while managing expectations and setting high standards for project delivery
  • Completes other related duties as requested by their supervisor

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Programming, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience: Three years IT support experience, preferably in an academic environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of windows operating systems, networking, hardware and software.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills are required with the ability to relate to a population of diverse cultures and varying degrees of computer literacy.
  • Effective problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively but ethically for solutions to problems
  • Availability to resolve time sensitive and critical issues as needed
    • Position will be on call during facility operating hours

    • Hours and work days may fluctuate as demands require
