Ralph Magliocchetti is the epitome of the American Dream.
He came from very humble beginnings, growing up in the mountains of Veroli, Italy with no running water or electricity. Ralph immigrated to America from in Italy in 1970. He didn’t speak a word of English, but he knew that if he wanted a better life, America was the place to make that dream a reality.
Ralph immediately went to work and school to learn metal and machinery. He had a change of heart when he walked into a fancy restaurant, and thought to himself, “I’m going to have a place of my own like this one day.”
Ralph began with a pizzeria in East Rutherford that after 45 years still bears his name. After a few years he had saved enough money to buy the location where Il Villaggio stands today. He opened Il Villaggio in December of 1979.
During that time, he got married, had three daughters, and worked hard to grow his business. Thanks to Ralph’s tireless efforts over the past 39 years, Il Villaggio has grown into a premier restaurant and banquet facility. He has mentored countless people in the business, many of whom have gone on to open their own successful restaurants.
Ralph is a proud father and grandfather to his six grandchildren. He is a generous and compassionate man with a big heart, and is always there for anyone who needs him.
